A special thanks to all who helped make our Great American Teach-In a success! The day was filled with many interesting presentations and fun activities enjoyed by students and staff alike. If you weren’t able to join us this time, please plan to come next year.
The Great American Teach-In is a popular annual event during which parents, community members and other guest speakers talk to students about their careers and hobbies. This event introduces students to available options, allows them to interact with people in the community.

The Progress Energy Great American Teach-In is coming on Thursday, November 17!
In The Great American Teach-In we bring in parents and relatives who have interesting careers, hobbies, travel experiences or something they have done in their lives that would encourage students to strive harder to reach goals or think of as a career of their own.
Each year we have had several volunteers photograph the day’s activities. Interested? Please let me know. Kindergarten classes are still in need of cupcake decorating helpers for an activity at Teach-In. Call me if you can give us some time on the 17th.

Red Ribbon week is from October 24th through the 28th. The Red Ribbon campaign is the catalyst to show intolerance for drugs in our schools, workplaces, and communities. A Red Ribbon means that the wearer will say “YES” to LIFE and say “NO” to Drugs. Learn how we are celebrating this event at MBES.
