The Book Fair is going on right now in our Media Center until Friday, May 4th. Be sure to take advantage of this time to get the latest and finest titles for kids, as well as books of interest to parents.

We invite you to be a part of our Book Fair Family Events. They’re taking place Wednesday, 5/2 from 1:30-3:00pm and Thursday, 5/3 from 6:00-9:00pm at the Evening for the Arts. You can shop for books for your entire family! If for some reason you can’t make it or you want to continue shopping from an expanded selection, click here to shop the book fair online!

The spring Book Fair begins April 24th and runs until May 7th. We are pleased to present two ways for you and your child to participate in the School Book Fair, which provides appropriate level reading material that is both informative and fun:

Book Fair at School:  The book fair will be taking place in the school library/media center. Please join your child at the school to browse the wonderful selection of Scholastic books.

Please join us for the PTA Multi-Cultural Fair coming on Friday evening, March 9th beginning at 6 PM! This new event, An Evening Around the World – One School, Many Cultures, will showcase fun and entertaining presentations and activities for all to enjoy.

Many of our amazing teachers and staff have put together sessions featuring stories, activities, crafts and foods that represent cultures from around the world. Our multicultural club is putting on a parade and musical performance. We will also have dance performances from the Serbian Pearls Dance Group, the Taiwanese American Culture Association, and Carifiesta, inc, a Jamaican dance association. 

To round out the evening, we will be featuring "Mariposa Martinez and More Tales from Latin America":

Happy New Year! I hope you and yours made many happy memories during the holiday break. As we begin another year, please plan to join us for some of the fun activities that will be coming up. We need all of our parents to become engaged in our school community. Without your help these events will not be possible.Please look for the volunteer signups for these upcoming events. “Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida” – to promote the connection between reading and health we are asking volunteers to visit Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classrooms and read Healthy Florida Farms to students during the week of Jan. 23 – 27th. It's back to the business of learning as our students and teachers return from winter break and start the second half of the 2011-2012 school year!

Already, a round of learning assessments is underway, and Science Fair projects are in the works. We have a few other events in the works that we'd love to have you at, such as our first ever MBES Multi-cultural Fair!

We also give you instructions on applying for Magnet, Fundamental or Career Academy schools for next school year.
