Principal's Corner
Dear MBES Parents,
Happy New Year! I hope you and your family had an enjoyable and relaxing winter break that allowed you to have quality time with family and friends that resulted in many happy memories!
As we returned to school this week, our teachers and students continuedworking on the completion of our second round of learning assessments. The results of these assessments will be communicated to you over the next several weeks. We will be celebrating learning gains and successes, as well as sharing new goals and next steps in our learning year. Thank you for supporting your students at home in reading every night and completing homework assigned to them in support of their learning.
*** An Important Reminder ***
Please be reminded that our car circles and the processes that support them are there for the safety of all of ourlearning community. All students should be dropped off in the car circles and not in the front of our building or in the parking lots where there is no direct supervision for them. Also, please park in designated parking areas if you wish to walk to pick up your child from the designated car circle waiting area. We will be monitoring the front of our building and will be redirecting traffic to the appropriate areas beginning this week. No children should be meeting parents in the front of our building or crossing parking lot traffic on their own. This is for the protection of all, and we thank you for your cooperation in these safety matters!
~ Sherry Aemisegger, Principal

Family and Community Relations
Happy New Year! I hope you and yours made many happy memories during the holiday break. As we begin another year, please plan to join us for some of the fun activities that will be coming up. We need all of our parents to become engaged in our school community. Without your help these events will not be possible. Please look for the volunteer signups for these upcoming events. They are located at the Volunteer counter in the front office. Give me a call if you have any questions about how you can help!
- “Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida” – to promote the connection between reading and health we are asking volunteers to visit Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classrooms and read Healthy Florida Farms to students during the week of Jan. 23 – 27th. If you can give us some time, please let us know.
- Recreational Reading Book Swap – Jan. 26th (Pre K, K, 1st, 2nd & ESE classes) and Jan. 27th (3rd, 4th & 5th grades) during student lunch hours. Help is needed for setup and to assist the students in selecting a book.
- Multicultural Fair – Friday evening, March 9th. Help us to celebrate the Diversity that makes MBES special. Lots of hands are needed to make this day possible. More details to follow.
- Mark your calendars! “All Hands on Deck” Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast, Friday, Feb. 17th. Please plan to join us as we celebrate each of you & all you do for our students and school.
URGENT REQUEST!! It is extremely important that all of our volunteer hours are logged into the Portal system. If you have not been logging in your hours and need help to accomplish this, please call me as soon as possible. Our school hours are extremely low at this point and are not a realistic indicator of the service you have provided. The county will be running reports of all school volunteer hours in mid January, and we need to have a true accounting of what our wonderful volunteers do. Thanks for your help.
