Letter from the President

Dear McMullen-Booth Families,

On Behalf of the 2007-2008 PTA Executive Board, I would like to welcome all new and returning families to the start of our eleventh year at McMullen- Booth Elementary. Please join us in making this the best year yet. Our Motto is “Together we are better”. If you are not familiar with what this means, you soon will be! McMullen-Booth Elementary’s PTA is a hands-on organization that consist of dedicated parents, teachers, staff, and administration as well as community supporters.

Our PTA worked diligently during the summer to plan our programs for this school year. Some of the programs planned for this year include the Fall Festival, Reading Under the Stars, Dynamic Dads’ Valentine Dinner Dance and Reflections Art Show. We will also offer mini-grants to our teachers to help meet classroom needs like enhancing classroom libraries as well as providing classroom materials. We will again provide funding for the Book of the Month club, the Autistic Support Group, the Battle of the Books, Field Days, and Guidance activities. The revenue to support these programs is generated through our Entertainment Coupon Book sale, the Fall Festival and the Dynamic Dads’ Dinner Dance.

I mentioned how we fund our programs. The other vital component is parent support and participation. This is where the “Together we are better” comes in. Join our PTA. We need your support. PTA membership cost $5.00 There are many different opportunities to volunteer. In many cases it only involves a few hours of your time. I encourage you to join our PTA and be a part of an organization that speaks on behalf of our children. I am excited to serve as your president this year. We have an outstanding group of board members as well as committee chairs. Together, we are committed to a very successful year at McMullen Booth Elementary!

Sincerely,

Laurie T. Dobler
